Athena Forum was founded in response to a growing political, institutional and societal shift across Europe: the erosion of sex-based rights through ideological capture, the suppression of dissent and debate and the striking absence of civil society organisations willing to confront this change.
We bring together legal, medical and policy experts, alongside academics, feminists, journalists and grassroots advocates â combining skills and expertise to ensure these rights remain visible, coherent and politically protected, while strengthening democratic accountability across European institutions.
The shift toward gender identity in European institutions has redefined foundational concepts of law, rights and democratic participation â often without clarity, consent or accountability.
